“ This is not a fancy restaurant (the building itself is pretty old.) Well, we all know that when it comes to a restaurant, its overall appearance is not everything (dirty is no good however but this place is not dirty) so for this restaurant, the quality of the food they serve is what will impress you. During the heavy pandemic protocol (facial masks, tables placed certain distant apart etc.) I did a quick to-go order here but that was almost 2 years ago. Back then, no buffet was allowed. When I came back here last week or so to do a to-go buffet, I was simply pleased with the kind of service I received but most of all, the quality of the food. I appeared to be the first customer at around 11:15am. Nobody had touched any of the buffet items so everything was full and fresh. Upon telling the man who greeted me that it was for to-go, he gave me three containers so that I'd be able to maximize the whole experience (at this point, I was already super happy as he was so generous for me.) By using the big container, I got me a few vegetable samosas, tandoori chicken legs, sir-fried noodles, stir-fried veggies, saag paneer and some curry. In a round container (that's mostly used for soups), I got me a full tub of chicken masala. And in another round container, I got me carrot pudding and something else (I forgot the name of it; could battered deep-fried banana or something like that) When I put all the containers in a plastic bag, my lunch/dinner/leftover for tomorrow food was SO heavy. And this whole thing was about $20 after tax. I definitely got the value out of it. And the food? It was delicious. Every single one was so well-seasoned/cooked; none of them disappointed me. I was especially impressed with the carrot pudding (it was my first time to have something like this.) You are supposed to eat it warm when it comes to this dessert but when I ate it, it was already cold as the entire to-go containers sat at my kitchen counter for a good hour or so (by the time I started to eat it) but even in the room temperature, this dessert was still so tasty. I'm a big fan of this pudding now. And it didn't taste like carrot either. This restaurant has my heart. I'm lucky to live so close by one of the locations. So yes, like I said, if you want to enjoy the lunch buffet in a true sense, go here at the top of the hour at 11am; everything will be fresh for you. ”
“ Yak and Yeti has been on my radar for a while and I'm glad we stopped by. Walking in is definitely weird. There's a big empty space and it's very quiet. There wasn't a lot of traffic until we left around one. Sweet service and nice private dining. The restaurant itself is not that big, however, they do have a nice space for hosting events and parties. They have a great AYCE buffet. Tons of different Indian classics, as well as a fruit and veggie section. I had a ton of dishes like chicken tikka masala, paneer saag, samosa, chicken chile, tandoori chicken, broccoli, watermelon and finished with the loveliest banana dessert. All of it was wonderful! My other two companions ordered from the menu, tandoori chicken and ginger chicken kabob. Expect a longer wait than usual when you order from their menu. I finished two plates from the buffet before they even got their food. The upside is you can tell it's extremely fresh and the portions are big for the price. ”
“ Came for their buffet but sadly that's only lunch and weekends. We still left stuffed though and with leftovers for lunch (5 of us eating). We ordered our usual order of chicken tandoori, chicken Tikka masala, saag paneer, murgh makhani/butter chicken, and tried something new - honey chicken. You get to choose spice level of dishes, we chose medium. Wasn't too spicy by any means. A side of rice was also included for 3 dishes. Honey chicken was slight spicy and sweet. Reminded me of an Chinese chicken flavored dish but with more Indian spices. We were glad we tried it. Saag paneer had more spices and herbs than I was used to, still liked it. Chai tea was only okay. It was more milky and sweet, and with less spices than I was hoping for. Everything was so good and flavorful. Wouldn't mind making this one of our staple Indian restaurants. ”
